Hyundai Kona: Engine Control System / Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGTS) Repair procedures

Turn ignition switch OFF.
|
2. |
Disconnect the connector of exhaust gas temperature sensors #1/#2.
|
3. |
Measure resistance between sensor signal terminal and ground terminal.
|
4. |
Check that the resistance is within the specification.

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-)
terminal.

Remove the side under cover.
|
4. |
Disconnect the EGTS connector (A).
|
5. |
Remove the EGTS (B).
|
[EGTS #2]
1. |
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-)
terminal.
|
3. |
Remove the side under cover.
|
4. |
Disconnect the EGTS connector (A).
|
5. |
Remove the EGTS (B).
|

Install the sensor with the specified torque.
|
• |
If the sensor is dropped by mistake, check if there is no problem.
|
|
1. |
Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
Exhaust gas temperature sensor (EGTS) :
39.2 - 49.1 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb-ft)
