Hyundai Kona: Ignition System / Ignition Coil Repair procedures

Removal
1.
Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
2.
Remove the engine cover.
3.
Disconnect the ignition coil connector (A).

  
•
When removing the ignition coil connector, pull the lock pin (A) and push the clip (B).

4.
Remove the ignition coil (A) after loosening the mounting bolt.

Installation
1.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Ignition coil mounting bolt :
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 Ib.ft)
Inspection
1.
Measure the primary coil resistance between terminal 2 and 4.

Standard value : 0.56Ω ± 10% [20°C (68°F)]
