Hyundai Kona: Head Up Display System / Description and operation

Description
HUD system displays various information on the combiner which minimizes the driver’s eye movement to enhance safety and convenience.
The Head Up Display reflects the TFT LCD images to flat mirror & combiner then displays them 2.0m ahead from the driver's eye.

Information provided by HUD ;
(1) Vehicle speed
Integrated (DIS) information TBT (Turn by Turn) navigation information, road signage
Safety warning lamp: SCC, LKA, Blind Spot Warning
(2) Integrated (DIS) information TBT (Turn by Turn) navigation information, road signage
(3) Safety warning lamp: SCC, LKA, Blind Spot Warning

Components
1.
Head Up Display : Information of the vehicle system is output to the combine through CAN communication.

HUD ON/OFF
Use the switch on the dashboard to turn the HUD ON and OFF.

Ambient Light Sensor
Ambient light sensor: The two-direction (horizontal, vertical) measuring sensor is applied and the HUD brightness is adjusted by the horizontal measurements.

If the ambient light sensor measurement is not recognized, the HUD does not work. Make sure that the sensor should work before checking the HUD.
Please note that applying window tint film on the HUD specialized windshield glass may reduce the video display quality.
Wearing the polarized sunglass may result in a distorted or darkened image.
